Starting Over – A New Beginning for HearIt.com

HearIt.com Social Media and Fav Icon Rev7

2024 marks a New Beginning for HearIt.com. More focused. More determined. For example, today I created a new Hearit.com X account, @PanAmPetro. There’s nothing like having zero followers again. That being said, the @HearItDotCom X account had taken on a life of its own that was probably too political. Yes, I had strayed off the path in respect to what this site was always supposed to be about: Podcasts, Music, Video and Radio.

What Next?

It’s 2024. There’s nothing like launching a media powerhouse 20 years to late. 2004 is about when I acquired the domain name HearIt.com. It’s kind of a unique story, someday I might even tell it. For now, I need to figure out how to put all the pieces together.

Beginning to Learn the Terrain

I have more questions than answers. By and large I use Spotify to listen to Podcasts, iTunes for Music, the radio in the truck to listen to . . . Radio. The strange thing is I knew more about what stations were available in my area in 1980 than I do now. For AM Radio I listen to KBBS out of Buffalo Wyoming and Casper Wyoming’s KTWO. There’s a 50/50 chance if I contacted either of those stations they would return a HearIt.com email. This is hardly to be expected from Spotify or Apple Music, so it’s hard to even begin to get a foothold. YouTube is also probably going to be a bit of a challenge. I watch a LOT of YouTube and the professionalism and slick production of so many YouTubers is nothing short of intimidating. Everyone started someplace those. We learn by doing. We begin by beginning?

The Limitations of HearIt.com (Currently)

Six months or so back I downloaded OBS Studio and for Open-Source Software it is absolutely amazing. That’s when I also discovered I am a horrible podcaster. To see just how bad I am visit the Pan American Petroleum Podcast at Youtube. There I am, in a big hat. Infinite number of limitations. It’s more than just a new beginning for HearIt.com, it’s teaching an old dog some new tricks.

So, that’s it for now. Tomorrow, March 5th, is the last nice day so I’ll be out dealing with cows and such. The next couple of days we’re supposed to get a lot of moisture, and I’ll have a lot of time for HearIt.com.
